Feeling "Dizzy" at Wrigley Field...

PEE WEE REESE: Good wind blowing out at Wrigley, should help the hitters this afternoon. Hobbie finishes his warm-ups, Maye steps in the batter's box, we're about ready to go and so is "The Pride of St. Louis" himself, Dizzy Dean.

DIZZY DEAN: Thank you, Pee Wee. Boy, it's good to be back with you for Falstaff and let's get this show on the road. Right-handed pitcher Hobbie facing the lefty bat of Lee Maye, batting .250 with an RBI. The pitch to Maye is popped behind the plate foul, Taylor says "I'll take it", there's one out. Now the 2nd baseman, Frank Bolling. He was acquired from Detroit in the deal that sent Bill Bruton to the Tigers. Hobbie's pitch is hit to left field, Ashburn puts it away, there's 2 outs. The veteran 3rd baseman Eddie Mathews takes his spot in the box, he's batting .417 with an RBI. The pitch from Hobbie misses low, Mathews will take 1st. With 2 outs, here's the pride and joy of Mobile, Mr. Henry Aaron. Aaron is batting .462, 2 doubles, a triple and an RBI. Braves yet to hit a home run through 3 games this season. The pitch to Aaron, down the middle for a called third strike and the side is retired! Milwaukee in the 1st, no runs, no hits, one left. After half-a-inning, Braves 0, Cubs coming to bat. Let's enjoy this message.

DEAN: Bottom of the 1st, Willey finishing his warm-ups, he'll face the outstanding veteran left-fielder from Nebraska, Mr. Richie Ashburn. Ashburn batting .250 with a double and an RBI. Ashburn swings, grounder to Adcock, tries throwing to Willey, mishandles the throw, it'll be a leadoff error for Ashburn. Mr. Reese has seen that play a few times before, you gotta teach those infielders how to throw it properly, Podner! Here's an old friend of Pee Wee, Don Zimmer in the batter's box with a .273 average, a double and 3 RBI's. The pitch to Zimmer, misses low for a walk, 1st and 2nd, nobody out. Here comes that young sensation from Alabama, Mr. Billy Williams. He's hitting .300, 2 homers, 3 RBI's. Infield back for 2, here's the pitch to Williams. Ground ball to 1st, Adcock throws to Bolling for 1, throw back to Adcock, not in time, Williams safe at 1st, Ashburn takes 3rd on the fielder's choice. Here's the ever-upbeat Ernie Banks, batting .250 with a pair of doubles. Infield playing for 2, here's the pitch, ball 4 and they are loaded! Ron Santo is up with the bases loaded, infield remains in for 2, here's the pitch, it's a slow-rolling grounder to 3rd, Mathews throws to 1st, not in time, Ashburn scores, Cubs lead 1-0 on the RBI infield single by Santo. Bases remain loaded, Willey having a tough time out there as 1st baseman Ed Bouchee steps up with the bases still loaded, one run in, infield still playing for 2. The pitch to Bouchee is grounded to McMillan, throws to Bolling for 1, relay to Adcock in time, double play as Willey heaves a sigh of relief. For the Cubs, 1 run, 1 hit, 1 error, 2 left. After 1, it's the Cubs 1, Braves 0, here's a message from my good friends at Falstaff!
